Based on a web shop usability test conducted in collaboration by Adage Ltd. and TNS Gallup, the internet located computer supermarket Verkkokauppa.com is the most usable web shop in Finland.

The test reviewed and compared the usability of eight different major web shops in Finland, giving them each points from 1 to 100 according to their usability.

The flattering fact about the results of the test is, that the user interface of Verkkokauppa.com was designed by myself back in the year 2003.

Last week I decided to start a blog in Finnish for new gizmos, gadgets etc. The inspiration was my own geekness towards technological gadgets. I think that this type of an overview for the gadget world was strangely enough still missing in Finland.

The new web shop for AutoStudio (www.autostudio.fi) was published.

I designed the appearance and some new functions for the shop. I also participated in the technical implementation of the solution. In addition the realization embodies integrations with stock- and sales accounting software programmes.

Muistot ympärillämme [Eng: Memories around us] was published. www.muistotymparillamme.fi

Muistot ympärillämme is a web based application for collecting memories related to historical objects, pieces of art, or perhaps significant places. In it’s pilot application, done in collaboration with Finnish national gallery, the application pastctions as a part of a larger web based art project, “Town and again” which presenting Finnish city culture seen through the eyes of artists throughout time.

Muistot ympärillämme is a part of this larger entity in providing the means for museum visitors to leave their own mark to the memory of the art piece they admire. The memory can be recorded in text format, digital images, or links to other web based locations. The aim of the application is to augment the existence of an artifact to contain personal memories any private person has concerning for example the place, artist or the theme that the piece of art relates to.

I was the concept, graphic and user interface designer of the project. The concept of the application is also mine. Santtu Rantanen was responsible for the application coding and The Finnish national gallery of the content.

I will participate on a Nordic net art exhibition event “Live herring” (www.liveherring.org) organized in Jyväskylä, Finland 17-20.10.2005.

On the exhibit will be my web based art project titled “Make your statement!” (www.makeyourstatement.org)
